Comment on Roy Case's post: I appreciate what Roy Case shared about while his training material may be the same material he learned from how he presents this material can be different to the his class due to their life skills and knowledge.

Comment on Gregory Jorgenson's post: Building student confidence through hands on labs that match what the student will experience in the real word is paramount to building the intrinsic motivation necessary for success. We the instructors must be flexible in our material delivery so we can be successful with our training.

Comment on Felix Moret's post: Yes, You are correct.

Comment on Gregory Jorgenson's post: Spot On. We as instructors must be willing to be flexible and be willing to accommodate the various students that come to us to learn new skills and create a new career away from the military.

Instructors can adjust their delivery to increase the engagement of their students.

The Value of accomodation is that enables the student to use class content while completing assignments or assessments in a way that best meets their learning needs.

A learning disability is a hidden disability in that it is not readily observable by others and only becomes apparent when an person is required to read, listen to, write or compute content.

I learned there are many resources available for our Veterans and students with TBI.  We as instructors should continue to educate ourselves on various learning strategies to help these students. As instructors we are not here to enable students but offer support, respect and understanding.

Personally, I was not aware of the IEP developmental plan students had available for them in their younger educational years.  What a wonderful tool for the educational program to have developed.  It's was emotional overwhelming to know the statistics of these younger children to have developed PTSD.  As an educator for adults, I appreciated knowing this information and how it can impact how I approach my students and teaching skills.

having a respect for other people languages preferences, strenghts, and challenges can create a more supportive learning environment.
